Scarless is a nomadic pavilion commissioned by Jane Withers for Brompton Design District. It was assembled and disassembled within the same day throughout the course of London Design Festival in three different public spaces: Thurloe Square, South Kensington Station and Exhibition Road (*).

Inspired by Physiotherapy and how kinesiology tape is used in the human body, Jorge studied how this mechanical knowledge could be translated and implemented into architecture – “at the end bones and muscles are part of one of the most intelligent structures we can think of”.

The result were 3 lightweight structures constructed from minimal materials: just gaffer tape and plywood sheets. Using the tape to connect large plywood sheets/boards, he offers a simple but compelling demonstration of how 2 completely different disciplines might inform each other.

(*) The last day was raining – London issues. The V&A then decided to relocate their activities that were planned for their Exhibition Road of Design into the tunnel next to the Science Museum.
